(1) Plants have consciousness, yet they are still eaten. If you’re going to use that reason, shouldn’t you be a fruitarian?
(2) Organic, grass-fed, free-roaming meat doesn’t support mega-farms or the Big Ag industry. The animal doesn’t face the same deprivations in normal farming conditions.
(3) Aboriginal peoples ate meat still. They honored the spirit of the animal and used every part of the animal, something we could easily do.
(4) Health claims are generally false. Soy, the biggest substitution in Vegan/vegetarian meals, is horrible for your body and digestive track. Potatoes, peas, corn, beans, peanuts, and grains make up a good portion of the rest of a Vegan/vegetarian’s diet. They are full of anti-nutrients and are starches that spike blood sugar and insulin levels, almost immediately being stored as fat.
